We were doing our normal Sunday night routine at our friends house. They have 2 boys; 3 and 5. We had left a small stack of our prayers cards with them to give to some of their family members. Apparently, when ANY person walks through their front door the oldest feels the need to grab one of our cards and run to them saying "These are our friends, Chris and Lindy. They are moving to Africa, so please remember to pray for them with this card."
Both boys have our cards not only in their rooms, but posted to headboard and side rails. The almost 4 year old says he needs his card so he can pray at night. Evidently he cannot pray without the prayer card.
Since we happen to be there at bedtime we were granted the privilege of praying with the family on the special mat in the living room. The youngest went first and prayed "Dear Jesus, thank you for mommy, daddy and food. Pwease help the children in Africa to have candy and bouncy balls. I love you Jesus, Amen." How funny! His mom told me that at night when he prays he always prays for something different for the children of Africa. Sometimes he prays for them a bed or meal. I think it is so awesome that again, a 3yr old understands what little the children of Africa have. It is so sweet that he remembers every night to pray for them! I know God must really enjoy those prayers. They may just be more sincere than ours!!
Those boys are just too cute. We will miss them so much! It has been so much fun watching all of our friends' children grow up under such Godly council. They are beginning to mimic what they see Mom and Dad living out. We are so blessed to have such great friends that will one day be giving us council on how to parent!
I Love these crazy boys!

That is awesome! I love it! I'm totally going to talk to them and see if we can't cook up some arranged marriages for my girls! ;)
More amazing to me is that you guys are impacting not only the lives of these African children, but the lives of the children right here, in NC. Did you ever expect that? God is so amazing.
ok linders. love the way you referred to "the special mat"
my boys adore you guys, you have loved them like your very own and we are grateful to you both for that
That's so sweet. I'm a friend of Jess' and love checking out your blog. You guys are in my prayers! It's neat that you are impacting lives while trying to get to Africa to impact more lives with the message of Christ!
